Afrinolly is a mobile app that allows African entertainment lovers to watch movie trailers, African movies, music videos and short films that have been designated public by content their owners or their legal representative, mostly from the Nollywood film industry
In 2011, Afrinolly was developed in Nigeria and submitted to the Google Android Developers Challenge in the Sub-Saharan Africa category. Afrinolly mobile application won the competition and since that time been downloaded by more than 4 million users and has grown to be one of the most downloaded Entertainment mobile app developed in Africa.
Afrinolly was announced the winner in the Entertainment category of the first Google Android Developers Challenge in September 2011, in Nairobi, Kenya. Following two rounds of scoring by an official panel of judges, two Kenyan apps and one Nigerian app emerged winners of the competition. Afrinolly mobile application won the competition in the Entertainment/Media/Games category and thereafter was awarded $25,000 to help the developers build and grow their business.

In the Movies tab Afrinolly mobile application, the user is able to browse movies by region, watch comedy strips, watch full-length movies, check for movies coming soon, and check out the award-winning movies and also Bollywood movies. The movies Afrinolly mobile app is categorized by region, which gives the user one the option of browsing through several movies from across the African continent. Out of the 54 plus African countries, only 10 of them are listed as having movies, with several of them coming from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa. Afrinolly has now added comedy strips from the likes of AY, one of the top Nigerian Comedian and Indian (Bollywood) movies to spice it up a little.
