Born Tonto Wigo Charity Dikeh and better known as Tonto Dikeh, she is a Nigerian actress, singer and philanthropist. She hails from Rivers State (The Southern Region of Nigeria) and is of the Ikwerre tribe. She studied Petrochemical Engineering at Rivers State University of Science and Technology before she ventured into Acting.
Tonto Dike has featured in many Direct to video movies but is popular in Nollywood and notable for her controversial role and lifestyle as well. In 2006, her role in the movie Dirty Secret put her on the radar for strong criticism as some thought no actor should have been involved in it since the movie contained numerous adult scenes which were not usual in the Nigerian Movie industry at that time.
She ventured into singing in 2013 and released singles such as ‘Hi’ and ‘Itz Ova’, however, the songs were trailed by controversy as her singing ability and vocal delivery was questioned. She went on to get signed to D’banj’s record label; DB Records in 2014 and released more songs which did not enjoy massive airplay. In 2015 she announced her exit from DB records and has not released any new songs.
